March 22 Progress Update

As air and water temperatures increase this spring during cleanup and remediation activities, oil remaining in the watershed may result in sheen on Talmadge Creek, the Kalamazoo River and adjacent wetland areas. This is most likely to occur during high flow periods this spring and may continue as crews recover oil from floodplain and backwater areas. Oil sheen is a common sight during spring on rivers in developed areas as rain and snowmelt carry oil from roads and parking lots through storm sewers.

Please call the Enbridge hotline (800-306-6837) with questions related to our work or to report affected wildlife, oil or sheen.
